The Oecophoridae are a large family of the superfamily Gelechioidea.
The adults of this family, range from very small to medium size, with a wingspan ranging from 0.3 to 3 centimeters.
The moths have a smooth head and big front wings. The larvae usually feed hidden in net or in rolled leaves of the host plant.
The larvae of some species feed on dead leaves, animals or fungi in decomposition. The larval pupation occurs in the larval shelters, on the ground or under the surface.
