Moth belonging to the Tortricidae family, with wingspan is 12-15 mm. It is distinguished by congeners from the chest and white head.
It is distributed in Spain, France, UK, Italy, Croatia and Greece, in Italy is also present on the islands (https://fauna-eu.org/).
The front wing has cream white background color
The front wing has a white background color with varying coloring ranges from gray to ocher to brown / reddish.
A dark band is visible in the middle of the brown / ocher wing and dark gray. Screeching is more noticeable in the marginal wing region.
The edge, bordered by a thin dark line, is fringed.
The rear wing is dark gray
It frequents coastal habitats, chalky meadows and scrubs.
Adults are visible from May to firsts days of August from twilight onwards, they can be attracted to artificial light.
The larvae feed on the seed of Picris echioides.
