Eucosma cfr. fulvana
Stephens, 1834
Moth of the Tortricidae family, with wingspan of 19-25 mm.Distribution is poorly known because of the confusion with E. hohenwartiana, it is likely to be in dry open areas where the hosting plant grows. Some sites do not give it to you in Italy but texts and other references, say it is present in southern France and Austria, where it is equally not present. From the morphological features and genital analysis it is difficult to distinguish it from its congenere, but the photos on this page are very close to E. fulvana. In any case, cf. is required.
Previously considered as a form of Eucosma hohenwartiana of fulve (ie yellowish brown) and distinct from this species with certainty only on the basis of the food of the larva (Centaurea nigra in Eucosma hohenwartiana and Centaurea scabiosa in Ecosma fulvana), both species present in the relief zone. It can be distinguished for the largest size and fulva coloration, pale than Eucosma hohenwartiana. No reliable distinctive genital trait was determined.
The Larva feeds on centaurea shaggy flowers.
