The Catoptria combinella is a moth of the Crambidae family, subfamily Crambinae, with a wingspan of 24-26 mm.
In Europe it is visible in France, Germany (only in Bavaria **), Switzerland, Austria and Slovakia. In Italy it is absent from the islands. *

The typical form of the species (which is that of the last photo) has brown front wings, with an off-white band that narrows in the middle of the wing to form a triangular spot that reaches about 2/3 of the wing. A white band, sometimes not very evident, runs along the post discal region, often interrupted in the background color near the veins. A brown line is visible along the edge. The fringes are off-white, crossed by a hazelnut colored line.
The hind wings are translucent light brown, with a light brown border the fringes are similar to the front wings.
